Remnant Fellowship Day Camp – Simeon

I can’t believe this is the last week of camp! This summer has flown by! It has been so full of fun, learning, and love for God and one another! How blessed are we to have a place where we can grow in our relationships with God and put into practice the messages we are hearing daily.
Here is a recap of our wonderful summer!  Mrs. Gwen came every week and gave charges to all the campers. We got to go on three field trips: Cheekwood Botanical Gardens, Crockett Park, and River Park. Every week we had arts and crafts, water play, games and activities, and gymnastics. We learned the dances to “Jump Up,” “Focus Up,” “Daughters of Jerusalem,” and “Zion Celebration.” Our tribe memorized 2 Peter 1:5-8, 2 Timothy 1:7, and Galatians 5:22-23. We made crafts to give away to the other tribes: chocolate covered marshmallows, slime, and hand print cards, and then we were always blessed with extras for the boys to have. We had name day and played games to learn the names of everyone on the other tribes. We webcasted our devos on Thursday, gave shout outs to all our friends out of town, and wrote letters to them. We have had many guest speakers: the Abelts, talking about God’s animals; Mrs. Jan Voorhis, giving a speech lesson; Ms. Cat Ross brought her dove and show dog to talk about; and Mr. Chris Clark came and gave us a lesson on “Stranger Danger.” Every week has been so full of fun and learning! I can tell that all of us at camp have grown so much closer to God and to each other over the summer! The Characteristics of Christ and Fruits of the Spirit are abundant, and we are all going further each day! Thank you so much for allowing me to spend the summer with your sweet boys; it is such a joy, and I can’t think of anything that I would rather be doing! Please keep all of us in your prayers this last week of camp and into the school year.
Much love,
Allyson and Jessica
