Remnant Fellowship Day Camp-GAD-Week 5

We are excited to start Week Five of Remnant Summer Day Camp! It is hard to believe how fast the Summer is going. Our continual prayer is that your kids have grown to closer to GOD, have more of the characteristics of Christ, and have a deeper friendships with their brother and sisters in Christ in Nashville as well as with the other Remnant Churches across the nation than when they first started Day Camp five weeks ago!

Last week was amazing! We focused on the following characteristic of Christ: “Love is not self-seeking.” During our quiet time throughout the week, we spent time in our characteristics of Christ workbook learning that GOD is not self-seeking, and He loves holiness, purity, zealousness, and focus. We had great devotionals this week as well! Gwen Shamblin came to speak to us about spiritual warfare and she charged us to focus on pleasing GOD and mastering sin. Michael Shamblin and David Martin came to lead us in praise and worship with music. The Junior Assistants and 4th grade boys in the tribe of Issachar led a devotional one morning with singing, prayer, and a recitation of 1 Corinthians 13. The gifts that GOD is allowing to be used for HIS glory through all ages is so powerful and moving!!! We are SO blessed!!!!!

We also are memorizing and living out several Bible verses. These include: 1 Corinthians 13, 2 Timothy 1:7, Genesis 4:7, Matthew 7:12 and Proverbs 2:1-8. Our sweet, Godly Junior Assistants are helping our girls get ready to perform a play of the story of the “Good Samaritan.” The Junior Assistants for the tribe of Gad as well as the Junior Assistants for the other eight tribes are selfless, God-focused, organized, and as a result are such a blessing from GOD to us Counselors. Please continue to express your thankfulness to them!!!!

We are getting to participate and live out what we are learning in other activities like water play and gymnastics! The girls had fun making purple goop and name tags for our tribe as well as the tribe of Zebulun in order to get ready for “name games.” This past week, we had over 60 guest Saints join us at day camp from Hawaii, Washington State, Texas, Austria, New York, and Canada. It was such a honor and fun time being with them! On Wednesday afternoon, we got to participate in “name games” to help us learn each others names since the Church is growing in membership – it was a time of laughter and fun!!! Thank you Monica Woods for all the time and organization that went into that!!! We also continue to pray and think of our friends throughout the nation by making cards and care packages.

For Week Five, we are praying and look forward to what GOD has in store for us!! This week’s theme will be focused on the following characteristics of Christ: “Love is not easily angered and keeps no record of wrongs.” We will get the opportunity to webcast our morning devotional on Thursday morning at 9:00am Central Time. We would love for you all to join us either locally at the Remnant Fellowship Church or by webcast by logging on to www.remnantfellowship.org!

Please keep us all in your prayers this week! We praise GOD for you and your sweet girls! May GOD be forever praised and glorified!
