Thursday (July 10) — The tribes of Manasseh and Dan will be enjoying an all-day field trip to Percy Priest Lake! WHAT TO WEAR: swimsuit, t-shirt that can get dirty, old sneakers or water shoes WHAT TO BRING: change of clothes, towel, full lunch with two beverages, sunscreen, anything you’d like to bring for fun IF YOU CAN JOIN US for the trip, call/text Dan Flahaven at 815-867-1200!
Lessons this week:
Today, Ms. Beth shared during our camp devo about how important it is to find QUIET TIME with God! Seek out time — even just a few minutes — when you go outside to nature, day or night, and just sit quietly and listen. Use this special time to talk with God or to just enjoy the sights and sounds that He has provided for you! Jesus did this, as did King David — so find time to get still and quiet before our Heavenly Father!
Junior Counselors for Manasseh met today during quiet time to discuss their roles as JCs at Daycamp. We have several for whom this is the first year of being a JC, and it is a very fun role, but it does include a higher level of expected behavior (being a role model) and of learning how to be a “step higher” in the authority line God provides. They are all doing GREAT!! This is a great time of refining and sharpening one another. 🙂
The tribe of Manasseh is continuing to work on our goals of always putting others before ourselves, keeping GOD as the focus of our activities, enjoying our time together in fun and keeping great sportsmanship, and showing the characteristics of Christ in everything we do!
