Manasseh at Remnant Fellowship Day Camp

camp gardenWhat an amazing first week!!  Here we are serving in the church garden. This week has been filled to the brim and blessed by God and we are already seeing growth; praise God for His magnificent ideas, coordination, and Spirit guiding us through it ALL!

Our boys were not only encouraged by the morning devotionals with Gwen, Michael and David, but they already are putting these things into practice!  We had a group test this week when our swimming day weather was not looking very promising.  As we gathered in the morning, we asked the group for prayer requests, to call them out together, expecting the first thing on their minds to be prayers for ourselves and our activities.  But NO!  Of all the audible requests, they were ALL for the characteristics of Christ and the qualities we have been striving for this week– “Patience!”  “Compassion!”  “Serving and Helping Others!”  NO thing was heard about swimming or weather!  It was an amazing moment of group selflessness and focus on others before self and the wishes of God! From our Middle School aged boys!

Truly, each day has been blessed and amazing and joyful!  Please spend some time with your child in the camp workbook.  A HUGE thank you to the Weigh Down staff for putting this together for us!  We have a couple specific homework assignments from Gwen so please be sure to have your child share what they are working on and encourage them!!  All the boys have also submitted ideas for service projects to add to our activities this summer and we can’t wait to get started on that next week.

Wednesday is our swim day in the coming week.  And we also very much need parent volunteers for field trips on June 24th and July 10th.

Thank you so much for this opportunity to spend time and encourage your boys!  We are filled with love for each of them and are encouraged ourselves by this special time!

Much love, Sara, David, Theo and Sally
